With more than twelve years of experience in biomedical research and application, Dr. Hang prepares and prosecutes patent applications in the pharmaceutical sciences and biotechnology, and is active in client counseling, legal opinion preparation and patent litigation support. In particular, she has drafted and prosecuted cases in the field of macromolecules, such as silicone resins and related products, and in the field of chemical catalysts, such as iron or copper-based selective catalytic reduction catalysts. Dr. Hang also communicates fluently in Mandarin and is active in managing Chinese patent portfolios.
Dr Hang was a research scientist at Pfizer/Warner Lambert prior to joining Brooks Kushman P.C. where she was responsible for projects in the fields of proteomics and genomics. She also has extensive experience in biological sciences and animal research, including years of studying the role of prolactin and rapamycin in endocrinological signaling pathways. Dr Hang is the author or coauthor of numerous publications based on academic and professional research and industry applications of biotechnology.
Dr. Hang received a Ph.D. in biochemistry and physiology from Wayne State University School of Medicine and a Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School. She is a patent attorney registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office and is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the Michigan Intellectual Patent Law Association.
