Martin is experienced in preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the areas of automotive electronics, automotive mechanical systems, video image processing encoders and decoders, DVD/DVR applications and computer memory architectures. Beyond drafting and prosecuting patents, he also has experience in the preparation of patentability opinions, infringement opinions and trademark litigation matters. Prior to becoming a registered patent attorney, Martin worked as a product design engineer in the automotive industry for over ten years. Martin was involved in the initial design and successful launch of a number of electrical/electronic components and subsystems for a number of automotive applications. In addition, to having design experience with various electrical/electronic components, Martin has gained a significant amount of manufacturing experience. The combination of Martin’s engineering and patent drafting experience allows Martin to effectively communicate with inventors while counseling inventors in intellectual property matters. Martin is able to distill the various nuances of patent law to inventors in a language that is easily and quickly comprehensible.
